This is illegal to send passport across country. Talk to Attorney. I will suggest for India trip, if required or notirized copy of passport.

Why Indians bash Bush ? He has always respected our community and helped us through. He has even fought with his fellow conservatives like Tancredo on this issue,Stop supporting the democrats and strart thinking like Indians. Make sure you understand that Democratic party does not give a damn on Iraq was attacked and people are getting killed. They need their own vote bank from dumb public in this country. Don;t get used in hands of democrats. They have used us from last thirty years. If someone thinks that Bush is an idiot, he is a super idiot. Bush is a straight forward guy and 90% Americans hate him because he speaks truth. Now you have to decide that Bush is good for immigrants or those scum bag democrats.

That's hilarious.
But fun aside, you're right. Times of India makes it sound as if H1Bs pretty much run everything and create everything and that H1Bs are like rockstars or something.
One reason I never read Times of India is that they somehow have figured out to beat pop-up blockers and my screen fills up with pop ups for airlines agents and phone cards and its really irritating.
Secondly, their content is becoming like a tabloid's content would be.
I agree with you Logiclife.... When I call my parents in india, my father says
you should be getting your greencard soon, bush is giving greencards to legals.
Ab mai kya samjhaoon. Bush bhayya to sirf push ka naam lete hai magar
dam hi nahee Push karne ka.
Unko ab thode dinme gaddi se push kardiya jayega.

This is a good effort towards solving the retrogression issue. Like many silent readers, I do have concern about contributing to a new organization.
Is there a way to know more details about this effort? Please send me a personal email so I can understand more and contribute with confidence.
Thanks!

Article is excellent. Thanks for sharing.
A divorce will not benefit anyone. Think about all the time you spent with each other as an investment. A job, and a little independence should not change your attitude. Think of the kids futures what they have to go thru. Its a total loose loose.
If you absolutely have to go thru with the divorce. Find a US citizen or maybe a GC holder who will be ready to marry you right after the divorce. Then you don't have to go out of the country. Or else reason with your husband to hold off on the divorce till GC.

I am not in the IT field - and my data set is limited.
But based on conversations with some friends from my BTech batch, the range seems to be 22 Lakhs to 40 Lakhs per year. I went India to look in to salary costs on behalf of a VC firm last year and found most good programmers would cost more than Rs. 2Lakh per month. The survey was done in Bangalore.
Of course, these were individuals who could hit the ground running.
Hello Friends,
Just curious to know your opinion / experience regarding the current job opportunities in India (near DELHI / NCR) for a IT guys? What realistic salary/benefits should someone expect with graduate degree (masters) from US and 8 years of working experience as Programmer Analyst/ Developer / Sr Developer in desi/vedesi mid-sized consulting companies in US. I have no clue, no rough idea, so I thought may be I should ask you guys.

All the Best. Remember that you are legal resident in this country paying Taxes. Go for it in filing a complaint with DOL , Better Business Bureau. Atleast you can have a good night sleep after that.

One option:
http://www.dayzadlaw.com/options.html ( I believe Rajiv Khanna and Murthy have clarified on this matter too):
Cancellation of Removal
Persons in removal proceedings, also known as deportation hearings, may apply in court for a special pardon to receive a green card and stay in the United States. For individuals who have never had a green card, the critical element is proving that you have a spouse, parent, or child who is a US citizen or permanent resident who would suffer extreme hardship if you were not allowed to stay the United States. You must also prove that you have lived in the United States for 10 years and have otherwise obeyed the laws.
.....
I believe it would be extremely difficult to be able to do the above though. Proving extreme hardship ain't going to be easy in court.

And law firm is right, they protect their clients. Search this forum for I-140 revocation by USCIS. I-140 was approved and then revoked by USCIS itself. In that case AC21 does not help, 485 will be denied.
I didnt understand your point: Is revoking an approved I140 is mandotary for the employer when an employee leaves? Per most lawyers it is not mandotory. Yes ofcourse employers "can" revoke but the question is it necessary for their interests and how?
Revocation of an approved I140 by USCIS is may be for other reasons like incorrect info when its applied or something like that.

I have a couple of questions:
1. In the AP application form, there is a question on when you intend to travel. What should I enter there when I am only applying for some future travel and am not sure about the dates?
2. I had worked on OPT after my graduation before switching to H1 visa. So when I apply for EAD now, should I apply as a renewal applicant or a new applicant? Is OPT the same as EAD?
thanks.
1. Write unknown
2. New applicant, if you are applying under c09 category for the first time.

What matters is a permanenet job offer letter and duties should match the
labor.
Rajesh Alex
rajeshalex: Where does it say job duties should match? I was under the understanding that the occupational classification should be same/similar.

How about requesting a $1donation when a non-contributing member ask a question, or $5 dollars for ten posts. It is not much but will definitely bring some revenue.
We can have a forum like member only access...where the question can only be posted by payed members or by people who pay a small donation? The idea is that the amount requested is not much ,which anyone can afford, but the number of questions people ask on our forum will definitely generate some revenue.
We can start a volunteer thread as a pilot program to see what kind of response we get...what do Core and rest of the member think of it?
Some of us have a fair study of the immigration laws....Our knowledge is anecdotal.....but still we are not lawyers and we donot want to get into a situation in which we get sued for providing potentially incorrect info....No one wants to mislead anyone but accepting money for service makes us step into an unknown territory....
We want to educate members as much as possible but this is not core business...
All advice we provide is with a caveat that users should check with their lawyesr for feasibility....
