I-485 filing date: July 17th, 2007
Paper based EAD application Received date: Aug 8th, 2008
LUD : Aug 12th, 2008
Card Production Ordered : Aug 16th, 2008
Card Received by mail : Aug 21st,2008 ( valid for 2 years)
Whole process took around 2 weeks.
Category: EB2, TSC
Priority Date: June 20, 2006

When did u apply for your ead? i am in the same boat and have filed for paper based EAD. hope to get my fp notice soon.
I applied for my EAD and AP renewal on the second week of May 2008. Again, I am not sure if EAD or AP renewal triggered the FP notice. Good luck to you.

Under the circumstances we might like to approach the Hon'ble President by posting a well drafted letter (not more than a page). Let us see what happens. All letters should be posted withing a specific pre-determined time frame (within one week, say from June 1 to June 7) to create an impact. We might like to achieve a target of say 250,000 letters. This cannot go unnoticed.
The law suit option is not bad but probably would need serious consideration. The suit will have more impact if we first send the letter. Atleast then we will have a point in our favour - that we have been driven to wall with no option but to fight legally.
As a starting point can some of us come up with some convincing drafts? We could eventually come up with a good final draft.
Obama was the only person who did make a mention of the problems faced the legal immigrant community during the campaign. We need to highlight this too.

That Indian community is being targeted or that Indians are facing unjust immigration policies as compared to citizens of other countries, which is the truth anyway. As much as all of us on this board would like to get our GCs, remember that GC is just a means to an end, it is not the end itself. Dont make the GC so important that not getting it starts "depressing" you.
Focus on the positives - the years that you have spent in the US have given you great experiences, some savings (hopefully:)), better perspective on life etc. Wherever you live, you can put these things to good use.
So chill out ! Getting depressed is not going to get you your GC faster.;)
P.S. I voluntarily dumped my 2003 PD to take up a new job & now I have a Dec 2006 PD. I have bought a house (and also sold one). I do not plan to allow GC to dictate my life.....

May be not true, my case assgined to officer on june 29th and no news yet. But I wish Ski_dude12 good luck.
I was told by IO at info pass that my case was with an officer on Aug 05 , got CPO on 25

Spouse can stay in the country as far as her/his 485 has been applied before EB primary got a GC and after EB primary PD was current.
It WILL matter if while filing 485 EB & EB dependents have to use EB PD & FB PD respectively because then it could happen that EB primary got GC but EB dependent was never able to file 485.
In most cases it WON'T matter if while filing 485 EB & EB dependents can both use EB PD.
So if EB Dependents can use FB Quota but EB PD that would be really good for us. Off course clarification from attorney is always a good idea.

I agree. Something strong needs to happen for EB3(I). I personally never have seen any difference between the pain felt by EB2 and EB3, ROW or I. Everyone feels the same pain waiting for their GC. But the prospect for EB2 atleast looks better. For EB3 it looks gloomy as always.
If there is a lawsuit, then it should be for all, not just for EB3.

I have to do the landing before june, 2008.
I have already used AP to enter US after my last trip to India. So IO at POE canada will know that I have pending 485. don't know how to handle this situation.
I am planning to do the landing in last week of may via Niagra falls. (toronto)
anyone with similar status done landing please share your experience.

Got receipt notice for I-485/AP/EAD/ from USCIS today (8/30/2007). My package was delivered to Nebraska center on July/27/2007. Notice date is August 21st, 2007. My priority date is Dec/23rd/2003.

Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.
However he told that once CIR pass, legal immigration is already taken care of, but if it does not passes there are bills like SKIL which will be put before the floor. But CIR has to fail or pass before you see this SKILL bill on the floor.
Great to hear you spoke to the senator and the feedback you got from him is very engouraging.

First I like to thank you all those whose support me in this action of trying to eliminate the country and category based spillover usage. I see that there are lot of unrelated comments and discussions going on in this forum, let's not get ourself diverted and please focus on our mission to try to implement the usage of spill over visas based on priority date.
