I filed my I-129 for H1B extension in March, 2008. It is almost 5 months. I haven't got my H1B extension approval yet.
Do any of you experience delay in H1B extension? Is it normal waiting time after July 2007 fiasco?
I am also wondering why Vermont is delaying the processing of H1B though it is not processing I-485s?
Please share your experiences.

caveat - you teach best what you most need to learn (richard bach?)
We'll find other things to worry about after the GC. However, I think a focus on learning/self improvement, health (exercise and meditation should go a long way..although i haven't really spent as much time as i should on this) and most importantly on financial objectives should help.
Most of us are here to secure our financial futures. Focus on good investing practices, learning how to invest both your money and in yourself. The worst thing we can do is to be paralyzed in thought and action by USCIS processes.

I did called NSC IO yesterday and she said that my packet must have been in caught up in the front log.
Looks like all our 485 packets have been xfered to TSC from NSC. Hence SRCXXXXXXXXX

The immigration debate for legal immigrants and illegal immigrants with substantial presence in the USA has been raging for 2 years now. Reforms consistently went through Senate but got stuck in the house. Last year has been most painful and has brought matters to a tipping point. Therefore, I conclude that after the elections things have to settle down - this matter cannot be up in the air any longer. Either we get formally and bitterly screwed or some relief pops out in the next 2-3 months.

I don't know is it the right place to post this. What will be the EB-3 ROW in the coming June Visa Bulletin. I have asked my attorney and got the following response:
Q: I am in the Rest of the world chargeability area. My category is EB-3. My priority date is July 27, 2006. Do you think that my priority date will be current in the coming June 2008 visa bulletin. The May 2008 bulletin's cutoff date in my category and chargebility is March 1, 2006.
A: Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if your priority date will be become current next month. Sometimes the priority dates stay the same for many months, or become unavailable completely like last summer. At times, the dates may jump many months or even years. We can not speculate when your date will become current, as it is truly unpredictable

I know that IV core members are busy with their own jobs and helping with IV but I think this is an important discussion because it can be done with an administrative fix. If primary applicants are allotted GC's from EB 1,2 and 3 and dependents from FB2A it saves a lot of visa numbers. Somebody pls contact IV core directly and get them involved in this discussion.
This concept is not unique and is being done for age out children before CSPA (Child status protection act) and for children of US citizens and permanent residents who get married before getting GC.

July VB Fiasco I-485 Receipting Delays
The USCIS has yet to release the detailed progress report on the receipting delays in terms of the numbers that have yet to be processed for receipting. The only thing people know through various private websites just indicates that there are a plenty of people who are still waiting for filing fee checks cashed or receipt notices received for the cases which were filed as early as July 2, 2007, not to mention any later cases.
We reported earlier that the USCIS had allegedly received total of 800,000 cases for the July VB fiasco cases. There is an unconfirmed report that they have completed the receipting only half way through of the total, meaning approximately 400,000. There are no sources of information to verify or confirm the figures. However, if it is correct, the USCIS has yet to process mountains of receipting workloads ahead and the filers have some additional sleepless nights which they will have to endure for a while. AMEN!

Got a CRIS Notification for EAD Card PRODUCTION dated Sept 2nd for my wife.
EAD receipt Dat: July 23rd
Card Production date: Sept 2nd
They say it will take 30days to get in the mail..
No idea whether it really takes 30 days or less so I can verify actual validity of the EAD card !
I don't know what worked..mailed TSC a letter to expediate.. Also emailed Local Senator and Congressman to expediate my spouse's EAD renewal.

Hi,
I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

I feel sorry for EB3 folks even though I'm under EB2. But I get upset when some of the EB2 folks don't even know the reason why they started getting green cards recently all of a sudden ( b'coz of roll over). They don't educate themselves and talk as if they deserve the green cards. If was a collective effort from IV and fellow immigrants that pressurised USCIS to follow the rules and reduce the backlogs.

thanks indigokiwi. The deadline is end of March, but we would like a large amount of this raised much earlier, since it involves making reservations, booking appointments, for Eg. with the lobbyist.

I will donate 100 dollars if they make any changes in DREAM Act wrt to Employment based immigration.
Even I participated in the campaign, but I don't think it will impact anything for us.
If you mean IV and are waiting for results to support, consider that we have hired a Lobby in DC and are spending a lot of money in campaigns.
we cannot just give them an IOU and say, we'll pay you later and only if you succeed.
No business works like that. we don't have a charge card to dispute transactions.

Guys even H1B increases are not that bad. A lot of our spouses could get jobs on h1b if it was open just now. Ultimately isint that what we want? Both husband and wife working?
I know that it could have a possible effect on the EB but I think a LOT of our spouses could work if the H1B quota was available. I know atleast 2-3 such friends whose wives can easily get jobs if the H1B was open.
